Our Story
Our journey goes back 18 years to the home of brothers and Tucson natives Aaron and Steven Priestley. Committed to helping their father through his battle with cancer, they set off on a mission to find non-opioid remedies. This determination, matched with their innovative spirit, set the foundation for Barrio Cannabis Co.
Since entering the cannabis world, Aaron and Steven have excelled in different areas of the industry, from caregiving to helping local home growers find their footing. Aaron eventually decided he wanted to hyper-focus on the mission behind all his exploits: to provide Arizona consumers with high-quality cannabis they can feel good about using. After countless hours of research and refinement, Aaron officially founded Barrio Cannabis Co. Steven, sharing the same passion and vision, immediately joined the team.

As we got off the ground, we welcomed Justin Morrow, an established industry professional. Justin’s extensive background ranges from humble garden tending to brand building, consulting, and commercial facility design. Our Approach
To us, boutique means personal. We have our hands in every part of the process, providing the utmost care from seed to shelf. Here’s how we do it:
- Small-Room Cultivation: Each grow room houses 42 plants — maximum. This lets us maintain an intimate understanding of every single one.
- Nutrient Precision: Each batch of nutrients is hand-mixed to meet the precise needs of our plants.
- Individual Care: We hand-water each plant so it receives the exact amount of hydration and care needed to flourish.
- Optimal Curing: We insist on a minimum two-week cure for every batch, ensuring every flower reaches its peak before it reaches you.
We never take shortcuts and stand firm in our belief that patience and quality are inherently linked. In fact, you’ll never see Barrio flower on the shelf until at least 30 days after the initial harvest.
